Chris' Cycle Challenge 2011

What is it all about?

As our membership expands we are always looking for new and innovative ways to raise money.

We are delighted to announce that one of our own members, Christopher MacDonald and his friend Luke Wetherill are embarking on a gruelling cycle ride from Aberdeen to Cornwall and then back to York. Their trip will total1,014 miles, a challenge for anyone! Chris says himself that ‘Lollipop activities encourage deaf children to build confidence, live a good social life and to be happy.’ What a fabulous advertisement for what we do.

Please support Chris and Luke, by giving whatever you can in sponsorship for their cycle ride. Everyone involved with Lollipop appreciates their efforts - and your support.

CONGRATULATIONS CHRIS!!! YES, HE IS HOME...

Well there was no stopping Chris. Despite estimating that he would arrive back in York this evening h
surprised us all by cycling through the night and arriving home at 2am (15.8.11) having cycled approx 150 miles in one day!Chris has achieved cycling a whopping 1,317 from Aberdeen to Cornwall and back to York in 14 days and 2 hours! (12 days cycling and 2 days rest) .We are sure you'll agree that this is an incredible achievement. Despite knee problems in the early days of his challenge and cycling alone from day 4, Chris has done brilliantly and is a true inspiration to us all.Congratulations Chris, we are very proud of you.A very big thank you to Chris, and everyone who supported him. If you have been waiting until he had completed the challenge - now is the time to sponsor him. It's easy, just text CMAC11 £2, £5 or £10 to 70070.
